About Us

Hairy Glass is a family owned business currently operating in it's 52nd year. Founded in 1972 by Harry and Sandra West in the garage beside their home, it began after an unfortunate accident in his '58 Vette, Harry (a millwright at the time) decided to fix it himself. Not only did he fix it, he also designed and built his first hood scoop mold for the car. He began doing projects for friends and soon word got out. By '74 he was building Pro Stock parts for legendary chassis builder Don Hardy. In less than 10 years Hairy Glass became a driving force in the drag racing world. Once called "the best kept secret in drag racing" by National Dragster®, we dominated the industry for over two decades in Top Fuel Funny Car and Pro Stock!  Today, unfortunately, Harry West is no longer with us and Sandra retired in 2021 but the Hairy Glass legacy lives on with the management team they mentored. With a combined experience of over 100 years in the
industry, we still operate on his philsophy of "if it's worth doing it's worth doing right"!
