Hairy Glass is a family-owned business currently operating in its 54th year. Founded in 1972 by Harry and Sandra West in the garage beside their home, it all began after an unfortunate accident in Harry’s ’58 Corvette. A millwright by trade, Harry decided to repair it himself. Not only did he fix it, he designed and built his first hood scoop mold for the car.

What started as helping friends quickly grew by word of mouth. By 1974, Harry was building Pro Stock parts for legendary chassis builder Don Hardy. In less than a decade, Hairy Glass became a driving force in the drag racing world. Once called “the best kept secret in drag racing” by National Dragster®, we went on to dominate the industry for over two decades in Top Fuel Funny Car and Pro Stock.

Today, while Harry West is no longer with us and Sandra retired in 2021, the Hairy Glass legacy continues under the leadership of the team they mentored.

That leadership team includes:


Candy Moore, daughter of Harry and Sandra West, who has been part of the company since high school.

Gordon Nelson, with 45 years of experience with Hairy Glass.

Aaron Rozier, bringing over 40 years of experience with Hairy Glass.

Together, this team represents well over a century of combined knowledge, craftsmanship, and dedication to the sport.

Today, Hairy Glass continues to operate on the same philosophy Harry built the company on:

“If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.”
